Medical Language Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities
 
    • Transcribe dictations by physicians and other healthcare professionals on patients’ diagnosis and other therapeutic procedures.
    • Formats reports according to established guidelines.
    • Recognizes, interprets, and evaluates inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical dictation, and appropriately documents.
    • Verifies patient information for accuracy and completeness.
    • Maintain employers’ expectations, quality and productivity standards and deadlines, including punctuality and attendance.
    • Understands and complies with policies and procedures including confidentiality, release of information, medical records etc.
 
 
 
Requirements
 
    • Must have extensive training and knowledge of different medical languages such as orthopedics, neurology, hepatology, nephrology, cardiology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, laboratory medicine, diseases and other medical reports using proprietary software.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, MT guidelines and procedures.
    • Excellent listening skills and ability to understand different accents, dialects, and changeable dictation styles.
    • Must be proficient in English.
    • Computer savvy
 

 
Proof Reader/ Editor
Duties and Responsibilities
 
    • Edit and proofread medical dictation such as orthopedics, neurology, hepatology, nephrology, cardiology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, laboratory medicine, diseases and other medical reports for quality assurance utilizing proprietary software.
    • Provide professional feedback regarding quality issues to medical transcriptionists using proprietary software.
    • Formats reports according to established guidelines.
    • Documents, recognizes, interprets, and evaluates inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical dictation.
    • Verifies patient information for accuracy and completeness.
    • Maintain employers’ expectations, quality and productivity standards and deadlines, including punctuality and attendance.
    • Understands and complies with policies and procedures including confidentiality, release of information, medical records, etc.
 
Requirements
 
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, AAMT gudelines and procedures
    • Must know the history prior QA and editing experience and strong background in acute care transcription and editing.
    • Excellent listening skills and ability to understand different accents and dialects and changeable dictation styles.
    • Must be proficient in English.
